This book is about the daily "life" of a park bench. Although the park bench is not alive, it interacts with different people and is is always there for the people. This story shows children a different type of culture and what the people may look like or how they interact with each other. This book is great for ELL students or students who are learning Japanese.

A story about a day in the life of a park bench in Japan. There are many different people and animals that go by all day. A little old man takes a seat on the bench to rest. Many other people decide to take a seat for many different reasons. It begins to rain and everyone leaves, except the white bench.

This book has the English and Japanese versions in the book. Having both languages in the book allows Japanese speakers to enjoy the book, too. Students that are bilingual can read the story along with English speaking students. It is important that students have access to their language in books that are appropriate for them. This book shows the different types of people in the book and also shows students what another language looks like.… (plus d'informations)
