If you're a fan of world mythology and/or folklore you HAVE to get this book! Each double-paged spread is devoted to a different creature. One of the pages is a description of the mythological being and the other page is a beautiful illustration of it. Here's a list of the various creatures illustrated within: Ariel (from Shakespeare's The Tempest), Mermaid & Merman, Hobgoblin, Leprechaun, Incubus & Succubus, Habetrot, Banshee, Dwarf, Kelpie, Redcap, Leanhaun shee, Nuckelavee, Selkie, Brownie, Knocker, Troll, Robin Goodfellow, Witch, Dragon, Santa Claus, Zashiki-Warashi, Sphinx, Pegasus, Garuda, Barong, Echidna, Jinn, Inti, Zeus & Hera. The illustrations are a mixture of beauty and humor and definitely geared more toward a female audience (i.e. lots of sexy guys!), although there are one or two hot females, as well. My favorite is the Incubus and Succubus illustration. The incubus is getting a little friendly with a drunk human male and the succubus is standing in the background looking really miffed at being cheated out of her "meal". LOL!

The book itself is a hard-back with a semi-frosted dust jacket. It measures a little larger than 6 x 7.5 and all 63 pages are in full color. All of the descriptions are, of course, in Japanese. If the humor in the descriptions is anything like the humor of the illustrations I'm sure I'm missing out, but the amazing artwork makes this a worthwhile purchase no matter what.… (plus d'informations)
