There aren't enough good ones out there. Reading Binding Vows didn't change my opinion. This book was so highly rated, but the author's writing just did not do it for me. The writing was too simplistic and ideas weren't fully developed. Also, Hmmmm.......I really wanted to give this book a good review. When I read the summary of the book, I knew I would love it. When I read an excerpt, I couldn't wait to read this book. Now that I have the chance, I really don't want to read anymore. I am currently still reading this book. But I'm afraid if I keep reading before I give it a review, I'll be so frustrated and angry, either I will not even know where to begin or I'll be not so nice. Now I will finish the book because I hate to leave things unfinished and a book has to be awful for me to give up on it. So this book isn't awful, but I needs some major reworking. I do have to unfairly say that ANYTIME I read a historical highlander books my mind automatically drifts to KMM. I know I should have a clear head, but sometimes I can't help it. While this book had promise, the writing had a horrible flow to it. There were times when it was just boring and slow and I just want it to end. I'm glad there are people who like the book. There is obviously something I just don't see. So 2 stars means 'it was ok'. And that's a good way for me to put it. Depending on how the book ends, I may try her second one to see if it has any redeeming qualities. Update: Instead of judging a book by it's cover, I judged it by the first 100 pages. Although the first half was, hate to say, boring and slow, the second half of the book was rather enjoyable. I hope the series gets better with each book. To read more reviews and fun things go to my blog; Drugs Called Books! I really like this series. I actually started with the second book, not knowing it was a series, and was thrilled to get my hands on the first. I was ever so happy when the secret Duncan had kept from Tara about the vows didn't stir problems. I was afraid it will turn into an unnecessary drama of "why didn't you tell me!?" and "I can't trust you now!" and so on, which was a good surprise. I was also surprised--in a good way--to see Myra's journey happen from Tara's point of view, I thought it happened after all the events in [b:Silent Vows|7816298|Silent Vows (MacCoinnich Time Travel Trilogy, #2)|Catherine Bybee|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1267736756s/7816298.jpg|10842449], and I was wrong. Tara and Duncan's love is beautiful. I like that the author gives them time, and the events happen in a large course of time, rather than a few unbelievable days. This series is a really good read. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

Duncan MacCoinnich's task... Travel to the twenty-first century Renaissance Faire, deflower the Druid virgins, and go home. Only his job is not so easily accomplished with the virgin in question, Tara McAllister. Time is running out. The evil is closing in on them both. Tara finds Duncan irresistible after what was supposed to be a mock Hand-fasting binds them. When Duncan whisks her to his home in Scotland she could accept that. But, can she forgive him for taking away her modern life when she finds herself in the sixteenth century? And is it love they feel? Or something else?
