NCLA Review - Ever wish you could live the simple, peaceful life of the Amish without actually becoming Amish? The author’s roots in Anabaptist culture and her visits to ‘Amish America’ give considerable insight into the wisdom of the Plain People. Divided into five sections titled Simplicity, Time, Community, Forgiveness, and The Sovereignty of God, each chapter in each section begins with an Amish proverb and includes real-life stories and examples of Amish living. Within the chapters are examples of things you can do in your own life that will bring about a more peaceful existence and includes a short list of questions for reflection and ends with facts about plain living. I have always been somewhat fascinated with the Amish way of life and their simple way of living and therefore really enjoyed reading a book that gave some practical ways of incorporating this into my life. Amish Peace is a great inspirational book to read. Rating: 4 —ARG ( ) Wonderful discussion of Amish principals and how they can be applied to Christian living. The stories the Amish told are very touching and the author does a great job of tying them to Biblical principals and asking questions about steps you could take to simplify, make more time for God and family, and find more peace in your life. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
