"Sawako Kuronuma is the perfect heroine ... for a horror movie. With striking similarities to a haunting movie character--jet-black hair, sinister smile and silent demeanor--she's mistakenly called Sadako by those around her. But behind her scary facade is a very misunderstood teenager. Too shy to fit in, all she wants to do is make some friends. But when the most popular boy in class befriends her, she's sure to make more than just that--she's about to make some enemies too!"--Cover.… (plus d'informations)

I received a copy of this book for free for promotional purposes.

This manga is a sequel to another series. I have not read the previous series, but that did not hinder my reading experience. I was able to understand the storyline just fine and piece together what had happened previously.

The storyline is fairly simple (basically the main character is in search of a boyfriend), but I didn’t mind. Less is more in this case.

As for the characters, I really liked the love interest, Eiji. He was so sweet and protective towards the main character.

The best part of this book was definitely the art style. It was so dreamy and romantic; it worked perfectly for the story.

Overall, this was a solid start to the series! I’m intrigued to see what happens next. ( )

***Thoughts after reading***
Slowly but surely I'm collecting this manga. I really enjoyed it a few years ago and even though I wasn't planning on reading this any time soon I'm glad I did. It's really the equivalent of a hot bath.

This is definitely one of my favorite shoujo mangas. ( )

Shy and quiet loner, Sawako with her long dark hair and serious demeanor, earns herself the mistaken name of Sadako in junior high. Her new high school classmates think she can call ghosts or at least attract them. All but the exceptionally sweet character Kazehaya. He's the popular boy in school that everyone likes, including Sawako. When Kazehaya makes an effort to show Sawako kindness and help ease things in school, others begin to be a little nicer. Sawako is so grateful that she completely misses the crush that Kazehaya has on her. ( )

A very strange combination of MARS and Wallflower. The narrative is very choppy, and the girl does little to nothing while outside forces act upon her. ( )
