With clear, step-by-step instructions, illustrated with color photographs, this book will help the beginning or intermediate turner readily master the work in a weekend. Projects include door stops, a sliding glass door stop, wine bottle stoppers, confetti lights, oil lamps, candlesticks, wine caddies, prep plates and small bowls, hors d'oeuvre plates, and plant stands. The book is designed so that as you move through one project you will develop the skill needed for the next. The tools required are clearly described, and most are standard turning tools. _x000D_By the time one has finished these 10 projects their skills will be developed for more ambitious and complicated projects. Some of these are shown in a beautiful photo gallery that includes variations on the projects in the book. They will encourage the turner to design new projects of their own. AUTHOR: Bill Bowers lives in Anchorage, Alaska, where he practised medicine for over 25 years. When he retired he became a full-time woodturner and perfected his technique.
