Musical Instruments from A to Z is a children's book that showcases an aspect of music for every letter in the alphabet. I absolutely did not enjoy this book what so ever. I felt that this book offered no real information. It simply stated an instrument for a letter. An example being " B as in Bass Guitar". I disliked it based on the wiring because the author offered no information as to the details surrounding each instrument. I disliked this book in its entirety and would never recommend it. Musical Instruments from A to Z isn't awful - it's just not appealing with its uninspired text or cluttered layouts. Each letter of the alphabet the author tries to fit to a different subject; such books can work, but to be pulled off they demand creativity - something this dry book lacks. Drawings mingle with photographs that are often too dark or fuzzy. It may be worth a look from the public library if you have a hard time finding other books about musical instruments, but I'd recommend Ah, Music! or The Story of the Incredible Orchestra first.
