Get a window into the life of a Canadian. The stories are about characters, scenes and actions. There are insights and even an epiphany or two. These are stories about today, about real people with a real variety of relationships. These are stories told from Canadian perspectives about the Canadian experience. These are not traditional storytellers. These stories explore new ways of presenting stories through the auditory medium. The Magic of Falling Teeth Sharon Bar-David, guided by her seven-year-old daughter, Leore, takes you into a magical world you've probably forgotten. It's a world filled with wiggly teeth and tooth fairies, excitement and jealousies. This program won a World Gold Medal at the New York Festivals in 2002. Producer: Iris Yudai. Crazy Like A Fox Years ago, Toronto playwright Darren O'Donnell experienced a psychotic episode, which ultimately landed him in the hospital. But as Darren tells it in his piece "Crazy Like a Fox," those months of psychosis leading up to his final breakdown were far from scary...they were some of the best times he's ever had. This program won a Gabriel Award in 2000. Producer: Laurence Stevenson. Coming Home Jennifer Van Evra knew the house she was living in was different. It was, in many ways, just an ordinary little house. But she could feel that it had a history, that it had been a real home. Her friend Erik Denison knew the house he had grown up in was special. Find out how Jennifer and Erik discover together what makes a house, a home. This documentary won a Gabriel Award in 2003. Producer: Alison Moss. A Voice of Warning A heroin overdose left Jade Bell blind and mute and unable to take care of himself. Today he communicates with his head, tapping Morse code into a computer, which generates his "voice". Trisha Wilson has been Jade's friend since his partying days. Together they tour high schools in BC where Jade's voice speaks a loud warning to thousands of students. This piece won a Gold World Medal and a Grand Award at the New York Festivals in 2003. Producer: Anne Penman. My Body My Body, by author Nancy Lee, looks at society's fixation with breasts - a fixation that can be playful - or downright painful. This program won a Gabriel Award in 2001. Producer: Yvonne Gall.… (plus d'informations)
