A warm summer night. The moon shines down on the quiet houses and gardens. Everyone is asleep. Everyone except the man in pyjamas and slippers, standing on the wet grass at the end of his garden, watching and waiting . . . In these three short stories, H. E. Bates presents ordinary people like you and me. But as we get to know them better, we see that their feelings are not at all ordinary. In fact, what happens to them - and in them - is passionate, and even extraordinary. Could thishappen to you and me?… (plus d'informations)

This book has three short stories. All of them is love story. I was surprised to third story. A woman killed her daughter because a man who she loves have an affair with her daughter. I think love is horrible. And love is blind. I have a girl who I have unrequited love. So I think I must be careful. ( )

Tis book has three stories.
First one is about a father who has a daughter.
When it is midnight, shie did not come home.
So he is very worry.
I think every father feel same.
And I like third story.
It is about a mother and her daughter.
At first, the mother meet a guy at a hotel.
He like her and she maybe also like him.
But she give cold receptions to him.
Then her daughter came to the hotel.
The guy meet the girl there.
It is heavy contents for me.
But exciting! So I like this story.
And I can read short stories without reserve.
So I want to read more short stories. ( )

This book has three stories and all of them is love romance.
However,it is not nomal and usual stories.
First one is about father's love to his daughter.
Second one is about a crimer who loves a woman.
And third one is about a mother and a daughter, who love the same man.
In this book, often "jealous" is a problem.
And some characters become crazy because of it.
I can't understand their feelings so much and I don't like their relationship.
So I put only one star on this book. ( )

On a warm summer night,a man stayed up.
He was worried about his lovely daughter and that privented him from sleeping...

There are 3 short stories in this book.
Each of them was great!
1st one was heart-warming story and 2nd one was a bit bitter but nice.
I recommend 3rd one.It was scary but interesting for me.I thought jealousy was as dangerous as hatred. ( )
