Bowered E book. Way too much detail and the book dragged ( )

Ok I admit it. I adore a good adventure -- even the cheesy, over the top, omg end-of-the-world ramifications, mary-sue/gary-stu inducing kind - as long as the plot is exciting and it is well written. Think of it as cotton candy for the mind. Never good in huge doses but a delight to enjoy. I'm always willing to take on the most recent pile of Cussler novels an old housemate passes along to me to enjoy.

In this Dirk Pitt adventure we off into another historical mystery. I don't wish to spoil any of the fun so I won't type out any of the plot. It is a good fun ride.

I only read this all of the way through in order to find out how Cussler was going to resolve everything. Of course, he did it with a big battle and Dirk Pitt saving the day. A complete crock of cardboard characters, dueling megalomaniacs, over the top descriptions, and unconvincing situations, with just a dash of implausible conjecture to make things interesting.

On the upside, Cussler did weave a reasonably interesting tale out of his material. It still would have benefited by being reduced by 25%-30% (or more). ( )

Abril de 2001: el barco de investigación de Dirk Pitt y sus compañeros resulta casi destruido por una nave misteriosa. Pitt intuye una conexión entre estos tres acontecimientos y se lanza a aclarar un misterio muy antiguo pero que amenaza el presente.
