This book is a fun book with a little humor and a lot of crazy things. It is a great book for juniors and I will totally recomend it for young students and they will think it is a good book ( )

We borrowed this as a talking book to take on holidays. Best thing to keep the kids quiet. They just sat & listened all the way

Only read it because some of my weaker readers LOVE Andy Griffiths.
This is a cute story about kids who decide to try to find the buried treasure left behind by their current principal. Totally predictable, but some students might find it a fun story. Best for grades 3 -5 probably. ( )

Henry McThrottle's class gets a new teacher, at Northwest Southeast Central School, when Mrs Chalk doesn't turn up for class. The relief teacher is Mr. Brainfright, who is different from any teacher they have had before. This is shown right from the start when he decides to change the first lesson from maths to one more basic, breathing.
However accidents can occur even when performing this basic task. This leads to the first of Mr. Brainfright's important lessons in life, lesson number 1, when you're breathing, it's very important not to fall out of the window.
It doesn't take Henry McThrottle long to realise that Mr. Brainfright, is even more unusual than he first thought. His ideas about setting problems in the maths class were not at all like Mrs Chalk's and his history lesson has even more consequences. Mrs. Chalk would never have fallen out of the window, twice.
After a trip to Principal Greenbeard's office, sent there for fighting although he was only defending himself, Henry has even stranger things on his mind. He discovers that there is buried treasure on Skull Island, which is somewhere in the school Henry and his friends Jenny, Gretel, Newton and Jack set out to find a chest filled with gold, jewel-encrusted goblets and pieces of eight, whatever they may be. They enlist the help of Grant, whose father is an inventor, and try to keep it a secret but soon the secret is out, and everyone has treasure fever.
By the end of the story, the friends beat the school bully, catch a villain, save Mr. Brainfright and uncover an old secret whilst finding the buried treasure. ( )
