I'm so glad Dunmore decided to write this fourth book of the 'Ingo' series, even though originally the series was to only be a trilogy. Dunmore continues to create the believable underwater world of Ingo with her fabulous, often lyrical, descriptions.

For me "The crossing of Ingo" is the most action packed book in the series as Sapphire, Conor, Elvira and Faro answer the call to cross Ingo - a long and dangerous journey that only the strongest young Mer can make. With Ervys and his followers determined to stop the human children from completing the crossing - dead or alive - the four friends begin their journey. At times things appear too easy for them considering how perilous the crossing is supposed to be. However, the book reaches a great climax and comes to a satisfying conclusion, although not all the loose ends are brought together. A worthy finish to a great series. ( )

this book like the others had a solid plot and event that the book revolved around, though when you reach then you'll wonder whats going to happen next you are still satisfied. ( )
