In Jesus, the One and Only, Beth Moore introduces you to an intimate God in an up-close and personal portrait of the life of Jesus the Messiah. This is far more than just a work on the life of Christ. Jesus, the One and Only is a romance, and you are invited to become part of it. As He has done in the past, God will use Beth's words to woo you into falling in love with Jesus of Nazareth. Come to know Christ personally. Watch and listen as He breaks up a funeral by raising the dead, confronts conniving religious leaders of His day, teaches on a Galilean hillside, or walks on the waves and calms the storm. Like a ragtag band of followers nearly two thousand years ago, you will not be the same.… (plus d'informations)

A personal portrait of the life of Jesus.

This is the first of Beth Moore's books I've read and it definitely won't be the last. In this book she goes through the book of Luke in detail as if you were actually well and although some of her observations stretch the point a bit she really does make you feel as if you were really there. I did find the constant references to crying a little wearing at times but loved the little insites into her family. If you want a book which is easy to read but teaches great wisdom about Jesus' life then this is for you. ( )

An excellent walk through the book of Luke and the life of Jesus. ( )

I started reading this book thinking it would be a serious study about the time period and the works concerning the topic. I was especially looking forward to etymological analysis (which I was led to believe from reviews was a key component of the book).
Instead I found a personal interpretation of the Gospel of Luke, with an "imagine what so-and-so felt when" every other sentence.
Mea culpa, I suppose.
I'm sure it must be very inspirational for those looking for such things, but it's not for me, no disrespect intended. ( )

Beth Moore is an excellent writer who is truly inspired by God. This book can be used as a study tool to learn more about Jesus. ( )

To Marge Caldwell, my mother and teacher in ministry. You were the first person whose passionate love for Jesus took my breath away. I will never comprehend how I have been so blessed by God to know you, love you, and learn from you. God has so tightly knitted the threads of our ministries together that I'm not sure where one ends and the other begins. Something of you is lived out in me every single good day. You taught me countless things like how to be not only a woman in ministry, but also a lady. Your love for Jesus the One and Only is wildly contagious. I am only one of many who caught it feverishly. How will I ever thank you for all you have invested in me? I love you dearly.

[Introduction] My romance with Jesus Christ began in a tiny circle of baby bear chairs in a Sunday School class of a small town church.
Today's focal passage: Amos 8:11-12.
