Diane, a recent military widow, packs her 2 young daughters in their car seats and heads to GA for a visit with her mom and sister. However, there is a terrible storm, and Diane crashes into another vehicle and the car goes over an embankment, killing Diane instantly. An alien spaceship witnesses the crash and beams up the baby girls (2 yrs and 3 mo).
Now it is 26 years later and the girls are adults, but raised in worlds light years apart. They are both sent separately to Earth to either save or destroy the planet for its resources. One warns of the danger of nuclear war, and the other is under the influence of an evil alien. They must persuade the leaders of the countries of the dangers of nuclear arms and to trust them to save the planet.
This is a fantasy / science fiction novel, with a bit of family and romance.
Overall, an interesting concept, but I think it could use some editing to make it a tighter story. ( )

The Last Sunset by March Lions had a nice plot and the characters were relatable and likable, especially Luna. As the heroine, she was brave and possessed all the qualities a good leader should have. The chapter headings were also eye-catching, promising a great read. I was just disappointed in finding that the girls' introduction to their new environment was skipped; I was looking forward to their reactions upon discovering that they were on a completely different planet. What was most enjoyable about the novel was its originality; two sisters fighting on opposite ends of the galaxy having no idea who they were made The Last Sunset all the more suspenseful. I recommend it to fans of sci-fi. ( )
