I'm still giving this book five stars because I really did thoroughly enjoy it, but not quite to the same level I loved book 1. This book was ~s p i c y~, which I enjoy in small doses but this book had a bit much for my preference (not to say that others readers wont absolutely love the extra spice). The continuation of the plot in this book was amazing, typically I feel that many books drag the plot in book 2 but this continued so seamlessly! The shifting of POV's kept me so engaged and though I usually am not the biggest fan of 'history' POV's, Serce's chapters were captivating and integral to the plot. I'll be waiting on the edge of my seat for book 3's release June 2024!! ( ) I won't lie, I was hooked on this series from book one, and I was not disappointed with this newest installment. Who needs sleep? Not me while reading this. I just couldn't put it down. I definitely liked Nadir more than Atlas from the start, and I was so excited to see Lor again. She's easily become one of my favorite MCs of all time. And can we talk about how this series went from kind-of-spicy to who turned up the heat in here? Wow. The action levels aren't the same as the first book, but that doesn't mean there isn't enough tension or that the plot slogs along. This time it's all about intrigue instead of full on battles, but you'll be so wrapped up in the story you won't realize how long you've been reading until you come up for air. Tuli has really taken this series to the next level, and I'm dying to see what book three has in store. Thank you so much for the ARC, Nisha! After reading the first book, Trial of the Sun Queen, I was ready for a sequel. This book was worth the wait. We pretty much pick up from the end of the first book. Lor is creating trouble and Nadir has his hands on her throat. You already know it's going to be good after that. Lor is still herself in this book, but as the story moves forward she starts to become more strong and starts to come into the Queen that she is. Nadir is... SWOON. I already loved him from the first book, but I obsessed over him in this one. The growth we get from him. THE RESPECT. Ah. He's my favorite. Hands down. Now, story-wise with the plot... I did think it took a step back from the first book. That was more action-packed, while this focuses more on searching for a certain item crucial to the story. It doesn't take away from the overall story, though. This information is much needed in the grand scheme of things. While this book switches from Lor and Nadir's POV, there is a 3rd POV from the past. I appreciated the storyline there and want to know more, but found this character irritating. But I think y'all will love Wolf. I'm already needing the next book!! I have to know what happens after that ending. I want more of this world and the characters. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
