Still reeling from his divorce two years ago and with his career on the rocks, journeyman MMA fighter Hank Fisher is over the hill and struggling to make ends meet in Tokyo. When a friend with yakuza connections offers him the opportunity to make some quick cash, Fisher hesitates at first. The job sounds too good to be true: two gangs are going to have a meeting to resolve a dispute over a wayward stripper, and one of the groups wants a big foreigner to accompany them to the meeting. They'll pay Fisher ten large, and all he has to do is sit there and look tough for an hour. Seeing a way out of his financial problems and the possibility of fixing things with his ex-wife and kids, Fisher says he'll do it. Then a fight breaks out during the meeting, and Fisher winds up accidentally hurting one of the gangsters. He slips out during the brawl, hoping that in the confusion no one saw what he did. But it's not long before the gangsters catch up with him, and when they do they give Fisher a choice: help them rob a stash house or die. Fisher agrees to help. But the robbery doesn't go as planned either, and soon he's running for his life with a million dollars in stolen drug money, his friends are dying, and the cops are looking for a big foreigner matching his description in connection with a murder. With no one else to turn to, Fisher reaches out to a former friend who works for the US government in Tokyo. But the guy seems more interested in the bag of money Fisher is carrying than helping him, so Fisher goes on the run again. And now, with the gangsters, the cops and a possibly crooked US federal agent on his tail, and his ex-wife and kids in danger, there's seemingly no way out.… (plus d'informations)
