Funny not funny, I've lived too long but there is no point in scaring people. What i find funny is kind of sinister. The inevitable breakdown of big ideas into particulars speeded up on shiny rails of black merriment. I lived in a golden age when change loved a straight-man. The main thing was not to be caught in the door of the great ape experiment when it closed shut. Maybe i just found the funny in i don't know what. I don't complain, the point was never the punch line or even the setup, when the future masqueraded as progress i pulled the rug. Sorry. That was funny. Like a fly that just missed the wack of a fly-swatter from mars. I was mostly m.i.a. and i didn't complain about the world. I complained about my cable provider and my bills. The old shadows left behind in my birth-place made their own fun. The fabric of american space bent around the black holes i made in it. Many people found that funny, i not so much Book jacket.
