So very hard I want to give this one 3.5. It would get a 4 or 5 if it was being rated in just all the YA literature I've been reading lately, but it doesn't stack up entirely next to the huge heavy hitters of main genres...and yet I loved this book so much. So so so much, especially in comparison to Ever and Elle's stories just finished.

This is a vampire story, and it's set up in such a brand new, unique way it could help being drawn in. Wanting to know more about the set up of the universe, the different breeds and the politics of their interaction, how things changed over time. Solange and Lucy as our two narrators and their widely different ways of viewing the world were lovely.

I read this in a day and couldn't wait to start the next one. ( )

Started this book yesterday afternoon. Finished it this morning.

The writing was a tad juvenile, but Lucy's character caught me.

I spent like, two thirds of this book trying to figure out why Lucy was reading like the MC for me when Solange was obviously the main character, and then, this thought just came to me: Maybe Lucy IS the main character!

anyway, when I closed this book, I said: "Aww, that was cute."

So, I will put the next couple books in the series on hold at the library. ( )

Surprised by how much I enjoyed this free selection! I will definitely be purchasing the next installment in the series. ( )

I think I'm just not in the right mood to read this. I like the idea of the boo but it's taken me three days just to read like seventy pages. I just can't get into it. Putting it down for now and putting it on the DNF shelf. Will try it again at a later time. ( )
