The return of Fitz and Robin Hobb’s incredible saga. She now takes us fifteen years down in time after the events of the Farseer Trilogy. References to the Liveship Traders to exist but are scarce. In any case we have here an ageing Fitz living reclude with his wolf and who will be drawn back into adventures with the coming of age of Prince Dutiful. The Fool plays here a prominent role by faking being a Jamaillan noble while keeping serving the Farseer bloodline. As the starter to a new trilogy things can be a little slow to be put in motion and lacking grandiose and epicness that will most likely brought in by the following books, but Hobb has once again successfully mingled psychological novel and heroic fantasy styles, sparked with some romance.
