This is a book about chickens running amuck through town. The silly antics will have young readers engaged to see what is happening on the next page. The rhyme of the book is weak at best. There is interesting information about urban chickens at the end of the book. ( )

I love picture books that are just about having fun reading together - and this one certainly applies! The illustrations are vibrant and full of silly details that reward a close look (check out that chicken grabbing an ice cream cone! Chickens on skateboards!) Preschoolers will love the rhyming text with the repetition of "But the chickens will not stop!", perfect for even prereaders to get in on the story. This is just a fun, silly book for reading aloud! A fun, rhyming story about the chickens having a heyday! Racing around town, visitng a thrift shop and dressing up, doing yoga at a studio, grabbing food from a cart - and from the hands of people!, skateboarding, disrupting a pet shop and more! Full-page, very colorful illustrations that look like oil. A major ltreat that kids should love. ( )

This is a great story time book for preschoolers. We did this at my public library and the kids just loved it. The fun facts in the back on the book were great to share with the kids. A friend brought a live chicken to the story time, so it really added to the fun.
