Cette critique a été écrite dans le cadre des Critiques en avant-première de LibraryThing. You had me at nephilim. The whole battle between the archangels is epic. I cannot describe any detail of the book for fear of spoilers, but it is worth the read! Many characters; many parallel story lines that converge in the end. I feel as if some of the details could have been omitted and thus make the book shorter and quicker to read, but that is ONLY the opinion of this reader. ( )Cette critique a été écrite dans le cadre des Critiques en avant-première de LibraryThing. I'll be honest, when I picked this book to review, I was very excited. Pretty much any book with wings on the cover has me interested. Unfortunately, I was unaware that this was the third book in a series. But, I'm nothing if not thorough, so I went to look up the other two books in the series to at least find summaries hefty enough to not have to read the other two and make the author and publishing company wait for my review. But then I saw the reviews for the first book, and it made me veeeeery uncomfortable. Apparently, there are blatant scenes of sexual assault and throw-away lines about them, as well as a suicide attempt as a way to get the two main characters together. This isn't a review for that book, so let's move on. This, among many other things, made me supremely hesitant to catch up enough to read Children of Shadows. I ran through a summary of the second book as well, and it was almost like the first book didn't exist anymore, everything had changed so much. I was becoming more and more uninterested in reading it, but I thought I'd give it a good try. I. Did not last very long. And I can't judge the book itself for it. I won't be putting any stars since I can't properly review it, but everything leading up to this book made it so that I was already at a detriment going in. My apologies for being unhelpful, but that's just the way it goes sometimes. Thanks for giving me the chance to read it, and I apologize I couldn't hold up my end of the bargain.aucune critique | ajouter une critique
