Leo, of Greek heritage, suffers from extreme anxiety. He makes his way through the world focusing on photography, knitting and talking to his YaiYai as a way to cope. His relationship with his dad isn’t great; there’s a big lack of communication between the two since Leo’s Mom and YaiYai have died. Plus there’s a long standing curse hanging over his head, hindering a growing relationship with Evey, the great-granddaughter of the woman who placed the curse on Leo’s family. I loved how his relationship grew over time with Evey, Drake and Jen. This book was so well written, allowing me as the reader to walk in the shoes of a young man who deals with high anxiety on a daily basis. ( ) This is a real gem, made so by great characters, coupled with the author's own experience with many of the elements in the story. Leo is a very relatable guy, Evey is equally so once you get past her initial chilliness and learn what fuels it. There's plenty of frailty, particularly on Leo's part, but Evey's semi-blackmailing to get him to help her obtain revenge, coupled with the hot yoga class (read the book and you'll understand), pushes him to new realizations, not to mention igniting something between them. I really like the semi-sarcastic openings for most chapters about particular yoga poses. Funny, full of feelings and ultimately healing are ways to describe this book. It deserves a spot in many school and public libraries. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
