I love this book! What a fun, "cool" way to teach kids to be kind to one another. The illustrations are amazing, cute, and fit the story well. The pun game is strong through the book; be sure to read the other words on the page not just the story itself. ( )

I love the other ones by Jory John and Pete Oswald. But this one.....I don't know....I didn't feel it connected with me as I expected it would. Still, it is a good message for always being yourself (and sometimes friendships do change) ( )

The cool bean is about a bean who learns what it really means to be cool. He learns that it's not about sunglasses, clothing, or swagger. It's about being a good friend and being kind to everyone. I have loved all of the books in the food group series and this one is no exception.
