Archenemies follows the unique and hilarious premise of a super hero and villan unknowingly living as roommates, and they hate each other. Even when it looks like they are on the verge of realizing the truth, they remain oblivious and just hate each other more and more. The storyline is fun and quick paced, the artwork is enjoyable, and the characters show the promise of showing deep layers as the story develops. I look forward to seeing more of Archenemies if the future!Archenemies starts out with a comical premise: what if the alter-egos of a superhero and a super-villain were roommates? This trade paperback collects the first -- and for now only -- four issues, which get a little sillier, having the evil one hate the good guy's civilian identity more than the superhero persona. (No, neither knows of the other's secret identity, of course.) There's quite a few panels of "ways to eliminate your roommate" -- which anyone who has shared space can relate to. But the story takes a different turn near the end, as the final chapter becomes very philosophical with the hero having a personal conversation with his father. Because the comic is setting up a new arc (which has yet to be written), the "ending" isn't particularly satisfying. It's too bad there isn't more as the writing is strong (if sometimes a little predictable) and the characters were just starting to hit their stride. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
Thick-headed Ethan has no idea that his roommate, Vincent, is the megalomaniacal Underlord. Self-absorbed Vincent has no clue that Ethan is the stellar-powered Star Fighter. As hero and villain, they're mortal enemies, but as roommates, they really hate each other. Join comicdom's ultimate odd couple as they fight to keep their secrets secret and learn to live together in peace. Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |
