The text is pretty bland, but my four-year-old loved the illustrations -- especially running her fingers over the texture of the glitter. I liked that the book sent the message that too much glitter can be a bad thing. I'm not sure if it will get though to the intended audience, but at least the author tried to temper the glitter mania that ravages clothing, carpets, etc. ( )

Very cute story about excess and joy. My kid's only complaint is that there really should have been more glitter. 😅 ( )

This story is about when a little girl receives a delivery containing glitter on a rainy day and decides to experiment with it by adding multiple things around her house to the glitter. The book is full of cute colorful illustrations and fun rhymes. What I think is even better is that fact that it is 3-D and you can feel the glitter. This would be a fun read to students one on one so they could feel each page.

This story in rhyme celebrates the shimmery power of glitter! But can there be too much of a good thing? Sometimes just a little is enough to reveal that "what sparkles most is you and me." Many pages include texture where there is glitter. A final page shows a package on the girl's doorstep, covered in googly eyes...a sequel? Hope so!

So begins the narrative of this fun rhyming picture-book romp, which follows a young craft-oriented girl and her pet cat, who get a box of glitter in the mail, and proceed to go a little wild. Is there such a thing as too much glitter though...?

Pairing an entertaining read-aloud text from author Angela DiTerlizzi with immensely appealing multimedia artwork - featuring lots of glitter, or course - from illustrator Samantha Cotterill, Just Add Glitter is the perfect picture-book for young children who love (you guessed it) a bit of sparkle. I found the scene in which the young heroine and her cat are all but buried in piles of glitter particularly droll, and appreciated the ending, in which a new box waits on the doorstep. Recommended to children who love sparkly, glittery things. ( )
