Some good hints but not many recipes that appealed to me ( )

I did read it - that is, I went all the way through it and skimmed every recipe. There are a lot of recipes here I'll never make, and a lot more that if I make them they won't much resemble what's in the book - but the techniques will match. The intro has quite a bit of information on how the Instant Pot works and what it does well - but it's not a review, it doesn't mention much of what the IP _doesn't_ do well. Nor does it note that while a pressure cooker can really speed up things that normally take long cooking - beans, brisket and other long-cooked meat, stews - it actually takes much longer to cook quick things like pasta or most vegetables, since the pot has to come up to pressure, then cook briefly, then release pressure. It'd be quicker in a pot on the stove. Still, there are recipes here I'm very interested in making - things that would have been too much trouble as stovetop dishes. I'll add to this review when I've actually cooked a few recipes and seen how well the instructions work. ( )
