In my opinion, the best part about reading a book is finding out what happens in the end. "Goldilocks and the Three Bears," grasped my attention right away. The illustrations throughout the book provided a humorous tone. The three bears portrayed the life of an ordinary family, with a father, a mother, and their child. Goldilocks portrayed the life that a bear would live, wondering all alone in the woods. As Goldilocks is wondering along in the woods, she comes upon a cottage and sees that no one is home. Upon realizing this, she welcomes herself inside. Goldilocks sees the bears porridge on the table and couldn't resist. She tries Father bears and Mama bears porridge, but it wasn't until she got to baby bears that she found one that was just right. Next, she sits in their chairs, and again baby bears is the only one just right, until it breaks into pieces. Finally, she goes up to the bears beds. After trying Father and Mother bears bed, Goldilocks gets into baby bears bed and falls fast asleep. She wakes up to the bears in the room, staring at her and gets scared away. No one knows what ever happened to her and no one ever will. The author leaves readers with a mystery. I did not feel as if this would be considered a happy ending since we never find out what happens to Goldilocks. Some may think that she ran out of the woods, all the way home and other might think Goldilocks was eaten by wild animals that live in the woods. I would have wrote an ending where Goldilocks and the three bears become friends or the three bears shared their things with Goldilocks. ( )

Goldilocks and the Three Bears is I believe as traditional as you can get. Its a traditional book about how daddy, mommy, and baby bear go on a picnic, while Goldilocks seeing no one home comes into the cottage and eats the porridge, sits in the chairs, and then finally falls asleep in the baby bears bed. When the bears get home, Goldilocks wakes up startled and runs away.
This book is a classic and reminds me of all the times my mother would read to us girls. It is a very cute and funny book that I enjoy immensely and a great book to read to kids.
I believe you can incorporate this book in the classroom by letting the kids try things and seeing what is just right for them. You could do a writing assignment where the kids write about something they have tried and liked or not liked. You could also use this book to teach the kids hot, cold, big, and small.

"Goldilocks and the Three Bears" retold by Valeri Gorbachev is the same tale I once read about when I was a child. The author sticks with oral tradition and the illustrations go along perfectly with the book. The wording is very easy for young children to follow along and the pictures will definitely catch their attention. Goldilocks is walking through the woods when she comes across the cottage where the bears live. The bears go for a walk to return home to their belongings messed with and broken. I think children can learn from this book that the theme would be to have respect for other people's belongings and never touch someone else's things without their permission. ( )

Goldilocks and the Three Bears is a classic story that has been told for a long time. The story is about Goldilocks who comes across a house in the woods. The little girl uses and sometimes breaks the items belonging to the Three Bears. Children always enjoy reading this story and I think that children would enjoy Valeri Gorbachev's version as well. A retelling of the classic fairy tale. Goldilocks wonders into the home of the three bears and proceeds to eat their porridge, rock in their chairs, and sleep in their beds. Upon being awoken by the bears, Goldilocks flees the home. A great story to introduce children to fairy tales. ( )
