Girls' Night Out A Novelby Liz Fenton; Lisa Steinke A beautiful, haunting story of friendship and what happens when that friendship is put to the test. A must-read for women of all ages!!! The author and Netgally should be proud of themselves for producing this work of fiction. This book made me love my best friend a little more after reading this because this because while this was a great thriller it made me sad for the friendships in these pages. You will feel like you are reading two stories that come together so well and you will want to know how these woman’s lives are alone and the secrets between them are intermixed. Ashley, Natalie, and Lauren have traveled all the way to Tulum, Mexico in hopes of rekindling their previous friendships. The book opens in present time. Natalie awakens the morning of their last day in Mexico. She panics when she realizes she’s not in her hotel bed. She’s not in any bed. She is outside the hotel, on the beach alone. Natalie’s memory is black in spots and she goes on a search for the other girls. She goes to Ashley’s room everything is there but Ashley……. She continues to Lauren’s room and they come to the conclusion that Ashley is gone. Did she go willingly, was she kidnapped?? What has happened and why is Lauren the only one unfazed? The book flips between all three women’s prospective. There were times that I wish the book slowed down a bit so I could keep the facts straight but once you get a feel for the set-up of the book then you will find that this book is a fun read. I will say that I expected a light read because of the title but what I got was an adventure with a little bit of mystery. A four-star read for me will be reading more from these ladies for sure.

Estranged friends Ashley, Natalie, and Lauren take a trip together to Tulum, Mexico to try to restore their damaged friendship and to heal old wounds. While there, all doesn’t go as planned and along the way Ashley goes missing. I thought this book had an interesting premise, but unfortunately that couldn’t save it from the completely unlikable and selfish cast of characters. The story was filled with constant bickering and arguing amongst the three “friends” (who it was hard to believe were ever friends to begin with). I only persevered through this story because I was interested enough to find out what happened to Ashley, but too much negativity and fighting just made this a tiresome read. ( )

Girls Night Out

Liz and Lisa literally could not of captured women and the way we argue , fight and makeup in any better way than they did in this book. I believe when they wrote this book they pulled from there own lives and just ad libbed. Some of the girls comebacks or grudges were way to real.

Ashely , Natalie and Lauren have been friends for 20 years. Ashley and Natalie invented a revolutionary way to style hair while drying it, and became rich from it. Lauren , a widow , is living off her husbands life insurance and is lost in life. Revlon has come to town with a big offer and Natalie wants to sell. Fast. Ashley doesn’t. This has caused some very tense times for the duo as well as Lauren retreating from the two. They decide to take a vacation to Tulum, to work on there friendship and spend time together. The trip starts off bad and just goes downhill as each day passes.
Not only is this a kickass book, but it sends a message.

A friend is someone that matches with your principles and provides you with wisdom, honesty and loyalty in order to make you a better person. Friendship is a two way relationship.
An acquaintance is someone you see possibly everyday at school or work or maybe you see every now and then through common activity.
You don’t know each other’s family , secrets or lives outside of the aquatinted activities.

Don’t confuse the two.

I loved it. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars from me

Told in alternating POVs, Girls' Night Out focuses on the estranged friendship of three women who go on a trip together to try and salvage what they can of their relationship. One of them goes missing and the other two do not know what happened. Putting together the pieces weaves a story that felt lacking in completion and somewhat lazy towards the end. It was a wild ride but it wasn't anything new to this genre.

*I received this book in exchange for a review. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher. ( )

This was like watching a car crash. I wasn't terribly invested in the characters themselves but I couldn't look away. The authors created such vile yet human characters with flaws a plenty and put them in an uncomfortable situation, to say the least.

Ashley, Natalie and Lauren have been best friends since college. Ashley and Natalie moved on to create a beauty company while Lauren settled down in her marriage. We learn later how poisonous their dynamics are and why they're on their trip in Mexico.

I wanted a little more from these characters. I found their narration to be repetitive and kind of surface. I wanted more about why Ashley didn't want to sell, Natalie's feelings on being forced to sell, and Lauren dealing with her husbands death. All of this was told but I didn't felt like it was shown. Despite this, I kept reading because DRAMA! How can you not?

I enjoyed the Liz and Lisa's writing styles and will continue to read their works. ( )
