I really found the online charts and the additional resources helpful. This came at just the right time for me and I was really excited to dig deep and connect with a positive message. It is a great workbook for working out your stuff. I know that the author had other books geared to other self help type items. But what really grabbed me about this was how applicable it is across subjects/areas of concern. I'll definitely be picking this up again and again. Its a good touchstone to stay grounded, especially if you're restarting aspects of your life. ( )

I enjoyed that this book was distinctly different from other personal development books. Although necessary pieces for becoming aware of yourself were present, the presentation was not standard.

I found it rewarding to go through the exercises in the book because they made me think about myself and where I am as well as where I intend to go. I'm at a place in my life where I must figure out what comes next for me and this book helped with that. I should add that this was not at all an expectation of mine from reading the book description.

I tend to read a lot of personal and professional development books and I found that this one was on the easier side to get through. It wasn't filled with a bunch of facts or jargon, just tips and guides to help you move through. Although you could argue that the other stuff adds credibility, it does make a book more difficult to parse.

I don't think this book is for everyone, but I do think that anybody who sees this book and thinks it might be interesting and/or useful should give it a try. I believe that it provides an opportunity to learn more about the self and the interaction between self and surroundings. ( )

One of the most interesting aspects about a business – whether nonprofit or for profit – is the story behind its origin. A business is built on the legs of the founder. The founder has a story on which the mission for a business was built. What is that story? Why is the business so successful? Usually, the answer to these two intertwined questions is embedded in the story of the founder of the business.

Each of us has a story upon which a business can be built. What is the story based upon? In the book ‘Solutionaries’ by Linda Lattimore, the story is pulled out of the reader and transformed into a vision with a mission. The book is a workbook, an exploration within the mind of the reader. Filled with exercises and revelations about yourself, Linda Lattimore has discovered over the decades of her work how to create a path for each of us to walk down. The path of introspection. By no means is this book that a person will sit back and relax on a Sunday afternoon. This book is for the aspiring entrepreneur or person looking to engage in starting a nonprofit business or work in the business world. Linda has produced a treasurer inside the pages of the book. She manages to pull ‘the story’ or ‘the motivation’ out of the reader based on their life experiences for seeking success.

I found the book to be a very thoughtful and helpful exercise in introspection. Additionally, in order to grow, each of us must come to grips with the reality of our vision. Through guided interaction, the story is supported by the truth (through interview) from a friend or colleague. Without giving too much away, I would highly recommend this book to any person looking to succeed in the world. Last but not least, the book is a work book – if you did not get that impression in the first few paragraphs (sorry). Therefore, think critically and revisit the book at different time points in the future to sharpen your mission based on the exercises in this book.

Thank you Linda for guiding the thoughts out of my head and onto paper where I could formulate a mission for success based on my personal brand. I am forever indebted to your methodology as it was helpful in identifying gaps in perception of my brand and my actual brand. With the help of the material in the book along with effort reaching out to different communities with a similar interest, I now have a better brand as a result of these actions. My vision for success has materialized through working the steps (all of the steps) in this wonderful book. ( )

Wow! This the most powerful catalyst for positive personal, community, national, and global change I have ever seen. After a lifetime of public service in education, advocacy, and community involvement, I can safely say that if workbook widely distributied and the principles applied the world would be transformed in the best of all possible ways. Great resource filled with great contemporary resources! Every senior community should have a class on social activism that utilizes this book! ( )

I found this to be a great self-help book. Many of the exercises and worksheets have a way of helping a person understand what is standing in their way. Was it the family, the way other kids treated you, work or travel experiences. This book shows you how to grow and present yourself in what is important for success. This would be a great book to use in a basic business management class. Everyone wants to succeed however many people are limited by the voices and images of past experience. This will help them create a new identity so they have a better chance at success.
