This would’ve been a five star book except for some minor things that I personally find annoying. The main male character was kind of a bit too selfish and not really a likable character to me. It was almost like he was saying “what do I get out of this?” “What do I get out of this?” throughout half of the beginning of the book. The story was good and the ending was very surprising. It was pretty suspenseful at times which is getting harder and harder to find it seems. ( )

Spanning twelve tense hours, Somebody's Daughter by David Bell is an engrossing and suspense-laden mystery.

With short chapters ending on dramatic cliffhangers, Somebody's Daughter is an absolutely riveting mystery. Each of the characters that are central to the investigation have something to hide, but do any of these secrets have anything to do with Felicity's disappearance? With plenty of twists, turns and astonishing disclosures, David Bell brings this mesmerizing novel to a spectacular conclusion that completely wraps up all of the story's dangling threads.Fans of the genre are sure to enjoy this engrossing thriller. Super fast read about a missing girl. David Bell has created a thriller that races from start to finish. When Michael is confronted by his ex-wife that her daughter is missing, he is confused. Why is she involving him in this? He has moved on and is happily married to Angela. When Erica says that Felicity is his daughter, he is shocked! 10 years old, and he knew nothing about her.
This possibility spurs Michael into action to help Erica find Felicity. What follows is a twisted tale of family, past sorrows, strange persons, and a long held secret.
I enjoyed this fast moving novel!

I got this book as an ARC. I started this book this morning and just finished it. I loved it. So well written. Love the short chapter that ended in cliff hangers, which made you want to read just one more and then one more. Lots of twists. This story is about a missing girl that her mother shows up at her ex-husbands house saying “surprise you are a dad to a 10 year old you never met”. It was just such a great read. Go out and grab this one. ( )
