This was a sweet, fun story, with some gentle humour. I enjoyed the details of Rosellen's life, and especially her interactions with her two brothers which I felt were realistic. Although she is a princess I think her life is quite relatable for many children.

Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book through LT's Member Giveaway. ( )

A re-telling of classic fairy tales incorporated in a modern 'fairy tale'.
Rosellen is not your average perfect princess but definitely trying to be with the help of a fairy tales book she receives as a gift......however not all goes to plan!

With enchanting illustrations throughout, this book is an absolute delight to read and will appeal to ALL young girls.....even my 10 year old enjoyed it!

In all, a highly recommended read. ( )

This was a really cute story on how a little girl princess wanted to know on how to be a true princess. We see her try different methods based on the stories she received as a birthday present, but in the end she learns that she just has to be herself. I thought the ending resolution ended rather abruptly and wanted just one more little chapter or epilogue to see how she was doing at the end, but I still enjoyed it over all. The illustrations were wonderful as well. ( )

I received a mobi.file of this book from the author through a giveaway she recently had on LibraryThing, and the following is my honest opinion.

Com’on now. What woman has never dreamt of being a princess when she had been a very young girl? This had been exceptionally true after reading fairy tales like Sleeping Beauty, or Cinderella; hasn’t it.

You can easily give this book quickly to your daughters or other young girls in your family, but you might rather read it first, so you can rekindle the time you had been their young age.

In this story the protagonist, Rosellen, receives a book as a birthday gift from her Grandmother containing five classic fairy tales. Five classic fairy tales you’ve must have read when you as mothers read as young girls, and you might have even tried to emulate the girls in these in stories which precisely what Rosellen did after reading each one. And what young girl has desired to be a really-truly real-life Princess at once in their lives.

In the end, everyone reading this book, as did Rosellen, will come to the realization that although you might be a Princess in real life, the problems you might face day-to-day can’t be resolved as easily as they can in any story you might read. A subliminal lesson every mother should want their daughters to learn; which is I’ve decide to give the author, Amanda Kastner, 5 STARS for having written this rather endearing story. ( )
