This book is about acceptance and allowing a little boy to be able to express himself freely. It's important to accept and encourage children to be who they want to be and find their independence in it.

A little boy just wants to be free and wear whatever his heart desires without being judged. Maybe If he adds a little sparkle in everyones lives, he will finally be able to live his own free lifestyle.

Such an important read about pushing society's gender norms, and I think this story can welcome great perspective and discussion. I would hope new appreciation arises for students who might dress differently, or like something that is different than society says. ( )

Sparkle boy is a book about acceptance and follows a boy character that wants to wear dresses and his journey of feeling good about himself. I think this could be a good book to show a classroom because of the topic of LGBTQ should be normal to children and introducing them to these books is important to teach them self acceptance of themselves and others. ( )
