I loved the determination in both of them and their fights to recover from their wounds. ( ) 3.5- 4 stars This book had so much promise. There were many aspects that I liked and others that fell short. At times I felt like I wanted to junk punch Cash. Other times I thought he was sweet. The same was true with Erin. She bounced back and forth between standing up for herself and her job and the next being sappy. I did really appreciate the Video that was recorded. That made me laugh because it is something I have witnessed first hand. I was left with several questions (what was found out about the company losing money?) I am looking forward to Ryder's book. Full review will appear on Reader's Edyn on 9/18/17 at http://bit.ly/2f9sgyk Cash Boyd is an arrogant ass. He’s selfish, rich, a womanizer, happens to be damn good at riding bulls, and refuses to lay by the rules. He won’t ask for help under any circumstances – especially not after his latest bull riding injury that requires therapy following several extensive surgeries. He’s sent every therapist packing from his home – even locked his family out of his house quite literally for meddling – so this heart-stopping beauty of a therapist won’t be any different. His family sent her, he doesn’t need her, so she has to go. He will get back to walking on his own – in his own time, on his own terms, with no help from anyone. Definitely not from Erin, who has had his right hand working over-time since she arrived in his house. Erin Stone had a stellar reputation as a physical therapist. She loves her work and lives to be able to help others through her services. She knew Cash would be a hand full when she took the job and she’s worked with some tough nuts to crack, but this guy tests all of her limits and boundaries. Their magnetic attraction isn’t helping the situation. All she can focus on is his beautiful body – and that is when he isn’t sending her temper into meltdown mode with his refusal to get with the program. Never mind that she has been tempted since she first laid eyes on him, now she’s actually considering more. It’s a way to get him to co-operate with therapy: at least that is what tells herself. Never mind that the arrogant jackass tempts her beyond reason and that his desire for her could be part of the reason behind some of the jackassery. But only some. Full disclosure – I couldn’t use my very favorite lines or dialogue highlights in the review, because it would have spoiled parts of the story. It sucks, but neither do I enjoy running stories for other readers. I very much enjoyed my time spent with Cash and Erin. The chemistry between the two was palpable. I enjoyed seeing each try to deny the attraction, explain it away, then try to get on with their days without confronting it. Good plan … NOT! And the sex … Good Grief! Hot and Steamy to be certain! I think part of the charm was when they both would come to realize that they cared on a larger level, but would rationalize it, without admitting that it could be more. That happened several times and each time they cared just a bit more, you know, even though they didn’t. 😊 The Boyd family and extended family is also fun to get to know and added an extra layer of depth to the story without taking anything away from the main characters. Erin stuck it out a bit longer than many would have, but with her passion to help others and her growing love for Cash, it is perfectly understandable why she would put up with more. After all, haven’t all at some point in our lives? Cash was a little more difficult to love. He comes off as a playboy initially, but grows on you after you see more of who the person is and not so much the brand that he puts out there. Curious though that this book isn’t part of a series and is described as a stand-alone. It is, of course, but there are a couple of other books about the other Boyd brothers. Probably my only issue with the book is that the characters were so flipping indecisive. They’d decide on a way to handle the other and when the next scene popped up, they wouldn’t at that way at all. I guess twitterpation muddled their brains a bit. This made it difficult to understand a couple of times. However, I am fully aware that I read an ARC and it is entirely possible a few things may have changed. The views were interesting as it flipped back and forth between Cash and Erin and I think that may have been where I got hung up a couple of times. But I liked that we could see things from both of their views instead of the regular inferences. I did have a vision of a sexual situation in which Erin took the lead to accommodate for Cash’s injuries, but that didn’t happen. All in all, this was a very satisfying read, which has made me curious about the stories of the other Boyd brothers – A world I hope to explore. I recommend this book and am happy to say that you do not have to read it in any particular order. But for those of you who prefer to, start with Kellan (Beautiful Distraction), then Cash, and soon you will be able to read about Ryder (No One Like You, Feb 2018). Cash may also be mentioned in Counting On You, another stand alone, but the book does not involve a Boyd brother. For those of you who enjoy a satisfying HEA with hot sex and quite a lot of dirty talk, you’ve got a winner here. From New York Times Bestselling Author, J.C. Reed, comes a sexy new standalone novel I'm an average girl. He's a famous bull rider. He doesn't know that I'm into him. The first time Cash Boyd locks eyes with Erin Stone, sparks fly, and not only the clutch-at-your-sheets kind. There is something about Erin that makes him want to push her away while at the same time drives him wild for her. He's a man of many things, but being helpless at the hands of a woman isn't one of them. Finding himself at her mercy, he intends to make her job as hard as possible for her. Burning with desire for the one man who's the shadow to her light, Erin gives in to Cash's advances...even though she could be destroyed by the truth she's afraid to disclose. Little does she know that there is also more than meets the eye to Cash and she might just get more than she bargained for. Cash might be the best at taming bulls, but taming her heart could prove to be the greatest challenge of his life. Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |
