( ) This was a nice change of pace in the series. The previous books were so intense that I liked getting one that was more about the love story between the main characters. Aiden and especially Deidre went through hell in the last book. This one picks up shortly after with Deidre having a mental breakdown and disappearing for a year. Now its one year later and she is back with her 3 month old son – Aiden's son. No drawn out angst or drama over it – She tells him about it and they move straight to being a family.. Now its not all roses.. Aiden's screwed up family causes problems in this book which leads up to some suspense at the end. This introduces us to the half sister of Aiden's who looks to be the lead in the next book. After a year, Deidre has returned, and only her parents have known where she's been, but she really has to reconnect with Aidan. Aidan has has Deidre on his mind constantly, but he's too stubborn to admit it to any one and he's relieved she's returned. Then the story really begins and Aidan shows a side that stuns even himself. I like Aidan very much, and his reaction to Deidre and everything she had told him was fantastic. There's scary action, it's very intense, and the sex scenes were steamy and hot...'PHEW'. This was my first look into the The Syndicate series, and what a shame, I've obviously been missing some amazing books and there were some interesting secondary characters in this novel, so I have some catching up to do and I intend to continue reading any new additions. 5/5 big stars from me. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

Aidan HughesI was cruel to Deidre La Russo. Said things I should never say to a woman.Seen things happen to her.Things darker than the bottle of liquor I consume.I felt helpless.Defeated.The memories are more tortuous than the act of her torture. Then she walks back into my life, only she's not alone. Deidre La RussoI have my reasons for leaving.I lived through hell.I was beaten, tortured. Drugged.I have secrets.I have to tell them.Danger brought us all together.Danger may rip us apart.
