Last year I read “Five Glass Slippers” which told five different versions of the Cinderella fairy tale and enjoyed it much more than I expected. The same publishing company has recently released a new set of novellas recreating the Beauty and the Beast fairly tale in a volume entitled “Five Enchanted Roses”. Each of the stories holds a charm all its own in its setting, characters, language, and imaginative spin on the much-cherished fairy tale of Beauty and the Beast. * Esprit de la Rose by Kaycee Browning – This is Beauty and the Beast at sea, with pirates and ghoulish, ghostly sailors. * Wither by Savannah Jezowski – This was a very compelling story because the emotions and choices of the characters feel so real , even though the story includes zombies. * Stone Curse by Jenelle Schmidt - This story is one of the sweetest and gives the reader a unique take on the origins of the curse that afflicts the Beast. * Rosara and the Jungle King by Dorian Tsukioka - This one takes place in the Amazonian jungle and is very lush and exotic. * Wulver's Rose by Hayden Wand - Compared to the excitement and intrigue of the other stories, this retelling was quieter and is most like the original fairy tale. Five Enchanted Roses is a very strong collection of stories for those who don't mind wildly creative changes in a beloved classic fairy tale. The elements of the original fairy tale are mostly captured with some unique variations in each. In this collection, you’ll find the story as you’ve never read it before. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

Rediscover the Enchantment A ship bearing the souls of sinful sailors drifts upon a ghostly sea. An abbey looms as the final defense between mortals and ghouls of the underworld. In the stillness of a throne room, statues stand forever frozen in a moment of terror. Monsters and men stalk their prey deep in the jungle's shadows. A rose blooms in the dead of winter, sheltered in the ruins of an ancient Scottish castle. And only true love can free the Beast from his prison. Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |

Five Enchanted Roses is, a collection of Beauty and The Beast retellings.
I would give Five Enchanted Roses by Anne Elisabeth Stengl 4 star review because, I love the fact that this is, a collection of fairy tale retellings, and that each retellings is, a little different from the original fairytale but I just didn't like two books in this book. ( )
