I think this book is a great tool to use in a science lesson. I LOVED the pages that are clear and show how different things can be affected by different forms of science. I also really like how the book incorporates questions to help the students better understand the material. I would absolutely read this to my class. ( )

When teaching about what light is and how light works, this is the book I will use to introduce the unit on light in my future classroom. Houbre does an excellent job at showing what the world was like before light was invented and how light has drastically impacted our society. I was glad the author put the fact that light was created by Thomas Edison I thought that historical information benefited the book. Another part of the book that I enjoyed was when the author challenged the readers on what they know about different types of light and if they were man made or made by nature. The challenge the author brings to the readers is a great way for the students to stay intrigued in the book and to make them feel a part of the book. ( )

This interactive science book has students explore the different types of light and how they are used in our world. I find this book very engaging and interacting because some of the pages are transparent and when the pages are flipped it shows a different image. For example, a shadow of a bunny is showed and then when you flip the page it shows the other side of the shadow with the hand and explains how shadows are created. This book is also very informative for student. ( )

An in detail look at light and how is affects many things we use and see today. This book would be really fun for science class learning about solar energy. ( )
