Morgan Powell was raised to be perfect, to set an example for her sisters to follow. Her life has been dedicated to making something of her career, so she wouldn't know what to do with a man even if you gave her an instruction manual. Brett "Ice" Grady spends his days trying to keep up with his teenage daughter, his nights consumed in the Regulators' MC business. He has no time for anything more than a casual hookup. Two worlds collide when the dangers of his life crash into the calm of hers. Can she go beyond her own boundaries and chip her way through to the man known to be as cold as ice? I wasn't quite sure what to expect going in. I knew it was suppose to be a mix of bikers with something military. And that is exactly what it is.

The big story of the book is that girls are disappearing. There is a dark blight of kidnapping and sex slave trade taking place upon the city. Some parts dealing with this get a little dark, but not in the way readers usually think of dark. I hope this isn't a spoiler, but I have to mention it because I love it. The partial darkness I'm referencing is from the badies getting their just rewards. It's nice seeing this take on a popular story topic. So often in current books the sexual predator is romanticized, but that is definitely not the case here.

The love interest of the book is Morgan and Ice. I really liked both characters as themselves, but I wasn't so into them as a couple. Nothing was really wrong with them, but they just seemed so cliché. The virgin meets the bad boy. Sometimes I like that scenario, but their love scenes felt overdone and unoriginal to me.

What made me like Ice is that he is a single dad with a very active role in his daughter's life. He's a real take charge kind of guy and a total alpha male. A good father is such turn on (especially one who's as sexy as Ice).
In all my life, I have never analyzed a man's body enough to know they could be built in such a way, and now I realize I have been missing out. Backs built like Ice's are sort of beautiful and might just be my new favorite body part.

I believe that the next book will be Hammer's. He seemed to be really fun and wise so I would like to see more from him. But the character that totally stole the show for me is Coal. I can't wait to find out what his past is hiding. I'm calling dibs now.

Been anticipating Ice’s book since we met him in Stripping Her Defenses by Jessie Lane. In that book we just got to see the gruff Alpha male side of Ice and knew he had a mysterious background. In this book we find all about out about Brett 'Ice' Grady. To outsiders the Regulators are a MC Club that runs a couple of strip clubs. But the reality is they are a government sanctioned uncover group of ex military men. A group of men who formed a strong bond fighting terrorist now are a band of brothers fighting the bad guys on US soil. A story arc of women being kidnapped to be sold was started in Jessie Lane and Chelsea Camaron other series. Ice and his team have been trying to find a way to bring down the man responsible when the latest kidnapping victim brings things to close to home.

I’ve said it in my previous reviews of Jessie and Chelsea’s books that are related but I love that multiple series are crossing over with story lines and characters. It just makes the reading experience that much more enjoyable. I love the world these authors have built and how some of the characters are on the right side of the law and others not but in the end they are all fighting for the same thing.

Great start to a new series and looking forward to many more books from these talented authors.

BTW - If you buy the book before Jan 6th you get 2 bonus short stories from the Hellions Ride Series & the Ex Ops Series and let me tell you THEY ARE SOOOO GOOD!!!

What can I say? If I could star higher I would! It's fabatastic with a capital F and definitely not one to be missed if you like a brooding male and a sassy woman who digs under his skin until he's almost seeing double!

Spotted this on my FB feed which tbh is only used for books and liked the couple of quotes on the yummy picture so feeling a little index finger exercise coming on I heading to Amazon and one clicked! How glad am I that I did?!

I won't get into the plot or story because omg you need to experience it yourself but I love Ice and Morgan, I like the supporting characters, Coal needs a huge hug (I'm available whenever necessary). Hammer too, I'd hug him no problem at all!

I'm kicking myself that I haven't read any of these fabulous ladies other books but I will be rectifying that with immediate effect I feel sure I'll be having one-clickitis of the index shortly and maybe a divorce when my husband sees the bank balance :)

Oh word of warning.... if you start this give yourself time to finish, don't have a busy day ahead because once you start you just can't stop.... my husband yeah he had take out and I had bare minimum sleep, I only gave in when I got to the epilogue and decided to save it for the journey to work! :) Loved it oh hell yes! Lovers of strong, alpha MC heroes will not want to miss Ice, the first book in the Regulators MC series. In a style somewhat similar to Tack, from Motorcycle Man, Ice is an amazing single dad, who after the death of his wife has taken on the role of raising his now teenage daughter. So focused, in fact, has he been on this task, that he really hasn't found anyone to warm his bed (well other than the occasional fling at the Club) and believes that he will never fall in love with anyone again. Instead, all of his time is devoted to his work as the Regulators MC president, certain other clandestine activities, and to his daughter who he fiercely protects.

Then enter Morgan Powell, Ice's daughter's best friend's sister. Although they meet under less than ideal circumstances--at a time when Ice rather strongly questions her ability to control her teenage sister, who after being kicked out of her parents home has moved in with Morgan; Ice eventually comes to see Morgan for the "good" woman that she is.

When Morgan's sister goes missing, however, there is little time to focus on any potential romantic connection, as Ice takes it upon himself, and the Regulators MC, to not only track Morgan down, but also find and rescue a number of other girls who have also gone missing in the area.

After his initial rather harsh treatment, Morgan is not really sure what to expect, but decides to ultimately trust Ice with the mission to find her sister. During this terrible time in her life, Ice takes it upon himself to move Morgan into his home, in part, for her safety. It is during this time that their mutual respect and admiration for one another grows.

Ultimately Ice, in his typical alpha way, decides Morgan is too good of a woman to allow to slip by, and therefore he determines he will claim her as his woman once Morgan is rescued. Convincing Morgan, however, a 24-year old virgin who still can't totally figure Ice out, may not be as easy as Ice is used to his women being. Will Ice actually be able to save the day by rescuing Morgan and the other missing girls? Moreover, even if he does, can he convince Morgan that they are meant to be together?

I loved the suspense angle of this story. It was fun watching Ice and his MC brothers battle evil to rescue the day. Ice also had the perfect cocky, alpha nature that you would expect a MC President to have. The one area where I wasn't quite as convinced was with Morgan. I knew going in that she was an investment banker, so I guess I was expecting a really strong heroine, and in some ways, like when she was fighting to find her sister, she was. When it came to matters for herself, however, Morgan definitely suffered from somewhat of an insecurity complex. Perhaps that's why she tolerated some of her initial less than ideal interactions with Ice, but I guess I just expected her to make Ice have to fight harder to ultimately claim her after all of his initial remarks. In the end though, it does all come together, and I loved Ice's fierce loyalty and willingness to go above and beyond to protect the people who are important to him.

I look forward to reading book 2 of the Regulators MC series, Hammer, which is scheduled to be released in March 2015.
