Christmas gift from my brother, I think- short, cute, fun (but not for children), and too real. The illustrations vaguely remind me of Alexandra Day's illustration. ( ) This sounded very funny when I saw it in the catalog. It wasn't. It was somewhat funny. The author puts together illustrations of various wild animals with sayings of college students. The sayings are banality itself, which can make for a lot of humor, but many are deployed poorly and some of them are just plain boring. The thing is, you can read it in the time it takes to back your car out of the driveway, and the pictures are cute, so it isn't necessarily a waste of time, and if you get it cheap enough, probably not a waste of money, either. Just don't expect too much, and you won't be disappointed. Cette critique a été écrite dans le cadre des Critiques en avant-première de LibraryThing. The illustrations are fantastic, but the captions are just random and not very funny. The only chuckle I got was when the thrash metal spider shows up again, and only then because it was unexpected. I know there are people out there for whom this kind of juxtaposition is hilarious, but I thought it was pretty meh. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

Humor (Nonfiction.)
Animals are people too. A cardinal has roommate problems. An armadillo takes a shot at online dating. A hippo worries her MFA is totally useless. A sloth contemplates a career in stand-up comedy. A raccoon frets about his judgmental friends. A bush baby teeters on the edge (You wanna throw down?!) Here, for the first time ever, are the real innermost thoughts of our furry and feathered friends. Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |
