Now, I’m not one of those people where cheating in books is a dealbreaker, but I guess I kind of am when someone does it over and over again and never learns not to do it. I felt like Molly got a raw deal when her mother wrote a bestselling book about her Donnelly brother drama and the whole town branded her a whore. But I soon realized that I needed not feel sorry for this girl. She’s selfish and weak and I think she DOES like the attention. The book itself was decent, just the main character is not. ( ) I don’t think I’ve ever been so frustrated with characters before. I think there’s always an element of selfishness when we’re talking about high school characters, but this one was ridiculous. The choices the characters made and hurt they caused each other was ridiculous. A quick read, but I kept waiting for more of an explanation or better choices and it just never happened. I was definitely disappointed. The main character was hard to root for during most of the book, but I think that makes the narrative so much more special. Many people have gone through a similar path where you’re selfish and hurtful to those around you before changing your ways. Main characters do not have to be likeable to be relatable, and her compelling story about two brothers using her as some sort of trophy to be won (but society only caring about HER actions) was heartbreaking. I absolutely loved the ending! aucune critique | ajouter une critique

HTML: From the acclaimed author of How to Love comes another stunning contemporary novel, perfect for fans of Sarah Dessen. Molly Barlow is facing one long, hot summerâ??99 daysâ??with the boy whose heart she broke and the boy she broke it for . . . his brother. Day 1: Julia Donnelly eggs my house my first night back in Star Lake, and that's how I know everyone still remembers everything. She has every right to hate me, of course: I broke Patrick Donnelly's heart the night everything happened with his brother, Gabe. Now I'm serving out my summer like a jail sentence: Just ninety-nine days till I can leave for college and be done. Day 4: A nasty note on my windshield makes it clear Julia isn't finished. I'm expecting a fight when someone taps me on the shoulder, but it's just Gabe, home from college and actually happy to see me. "For what it's worth, Molly Barlow," he says, "I'm really glad you're back." Day 12: Gabe wouldn't quit till he got me to come to this party, and I'm surprised to find I'm actually having fun. I think he's about to kiss meâ??and that's when I see Patrick. My Patrick, who's supposed to be clear across the country. My Patrick, who's never going to forgive Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |
