Hereafter (Hauntings at Inner Harbor #1) - This paranormal/time travel love story is different from anything I've read before.

After his fiance left him for his best friend Rob Morrison has just moved into a very expensive condo in the city. He is pretty bitter about many of the losses in his life. He awakes one night to a woman crying which cant be real because what would a woman be doing in his condo in the middle of night crying. When he goes to investigate he finds the woman but she appears to be a ghost and when he says so she disappears.

Angie Barsotti is stuck between two worlds. She doesn't know why one minute she is in a beautiful place but so lonely and no memory of why she is there or her life and then the next she is in a condo.

Rob and his twin who died when they were children used to see spirits and even talk to them when they were kids. After his twin died Rob's grief prevented him from believing anymore. But after more appearances from Angie he decides to find out who she is and what happened to her.

From here the investigation into what happened to Angie happens as Rob and Angie fall in love. There are twist to the story that I dont want to give away but it was an original idea I had not seen done before. This was a short and very interesting other worldly love story.

Altered Frequency (Hauntings at Inner Harbor #2) - I really liked the first book in this series but I have to say I LOVED this book. I’m hooked on all the ghostly happenings at Inner Harbor.

The apartment building in Inner Harbor has many spirits. In Altered Frequency we meet a matchmaking elderly ghost named Betty. Betty thinks she needs to get the man who lived across from her and the woman that now lives in her apartment together to be able to cross over to the other side. But she has her hands full with these two.

Missy Prescott left California to start over after losing her brother in the line of duty. He wasn’t the first person she loved that died that way. He father was a police officer and died on the job too. She is a DJ on a late night radio station. She loves her job but is extremely lonely and wary of love herself for fear of losing them.

Blake Decker is a Baltimore cop. His blood family deserted him and his only family is his fellow cops. He doesn’t believe in relationships until one feisty ghost literally pushes him into Missy.

Betty (the ghost) was an absolute hoot. And to see these two non-believing people suddenly having conversations with her made for lots of humor. The resonant evil that also lives in the building was also back from the first book. We still don’t know much more about that but I am hoping in future books it will be revealed what/who that is all about.

I thoroughly loved this book from beginning to end and cant wait to see who’s next in the apartment building to have a other worldly experience.

Sidelined Afterlife (Hauntings at Inner Harbor #3) - Each book in this series has the common theme of the Hauntings at Inner Harbor but they also are different in the feel of each story. The first was much darker; the second was full of humor and this one sweet. The author writes in such a way that you believe in the ghosts that haunt the apartment building and you root for them to find what they need so they can cross over.

Veronica Matthews is the psychic-medium that lives in the complex that has helped the previous two couples with their “troubles”. She doesn’t really see her gift as a gift but has resigned herself to knowing she is going to see ghost and help the ones she can to move on. When she see’s that her sexy neighbor has a ghost tagging along with him she tries to not get involved but when Hunter Anderson see’s that she can see this presence that has been with him for two years he begs for her help.

Hunter thinks the ghost is his wife who died two years ago and whose death left him in such a depression he turned to pills and alcohol to numb his pain which almost cost his job as a Dr. It turns out its not his wife but a young patient he lost on the same night.

As Veronica and Hunter try to figure out what the ghost needs to finish here on earth to be able to move on they slowly start to heal from the heartbreak of their pasts and find themselves attracted to the other but Veronica’s lack of faith in men makes it hard for her to believe in a happily ever after.

I keep hoping we will get more information on the vortex in the building that is both the place where the ghosts cross over but yet it also houses a resonant evil that the author still hasn’t fully explained. So my hope is there are many more books to come in this series. ( )
