I liked Izzy about like I did April, she was easy to relate to and the romance with Jericho felt real. Interested to see where they're going with some of the other brothers like Wheeler and Ben, who seems like a total mystery... ( ) Listened to audio narrated well by Nicole Poole. Poole has narrated this entire series and she does a nice job with the various characters. Jericho Sexton Cole is a wolf shifter, recovering addict and a musician. He's overcome his addiction and is known to enjoy his groupies. Isabelle 'Izzy' Marie Monroe is also a wolf shifter that came from a rough pack that didn't treat her well. She's a wanderer and when she finds out the man who broke her heart is in the same town as her she must decide whether to run or stay. Izzy is a trouble magnet and seems to have trouble recognizing when she's in bad situations. That doesn't stop her from kicking ass and never giving up even when things look bleak. This second chance romance amongst the Breed shifters meanders around, tosses in life threatening danger and time breaks before these two get their happily ever after. Given the authors descriptions of mates and how they have trouble being separated their behavior comes across as odd. An okay read but too many side trips for me. If you like my reviews I hope you will follow my blog. https://wyldheartreads.wordpress.com/ Okay so I wasn't in love with 6 months and I hesitated a long time before reading 5 weeks because I never liked Jericho. MISTAKE! I loved this book. This book brought back everything I loved about 7 years. The suspense, the love, everything about this book just worked. It was AWESOME. Check out my full review here: http://www.thebookdisciple.com Five Weeks by Dannika Dark (Audio Edition) Narrated by Nicole Poole Seven Series #3 3 stars Right off the start from hearing it was Jericho’s book, I was not sure I was going to enjoy it. Jericho wasn't one of my favourite characters from the previous books. He is a man who lives the “Rock’n’Roll” lifestyle, drugs, women etc. In the last book he let someone eat a cupcake laced with drugs without telling them. I am not partial to this kind of behaviour… which in turn made it hard for me to relate to or even like him. That said there were moments where he shines and I can see his love for Izzy, which redeems him some. Izzy also wasn’t an awesome character for me. Yes she was spunky and feisty.. But then wouldn’t stand up for herself against Hawk and kept going back to an abusive relationship. Even once she’s acknowledged that this is the case. At chapter 15 I thought the story was about to end and I would have been happy with that. Not because I wanted it to end… more because, I felt the characters had overcome a few obstacles and I thought they were about to find their Happy Ever After. This was not the case. I was only halfway!!! There was a lot of scenes with drunk/stoned people - yes the location of majority of this book takes place in a bar - but I got the feeling these were set ups to use some cheesy lines. There was some repetitive information - that if you had read the previous books you really don’t need to keep hearing.. But I guess if you read this as a stand alone maybe might be needed. Also, there was a lot of Jericho calling Izzy “Baby” UGH!! I hate that.. Baby, come here. It’s ok Baby, I’m sorry Baby.. bleh! The characters work through some big abusive issues, drugs and physical. There was a chunk of the story where they are constantly reassuring each other about how they are strong and doing well, etc. I got pulled back into the story when it starts to pick up again with some action and then there was a steamy scene that was done really well. This was not my favourite of the series, and honestly if these two characters had just had a short novella I would have probably rated it higher. I am moving on to book 4. I enjoy Ivy’s character and while Lorenzo is a bit of a Egomaniac.. I think she can put him in his place - so to speak. I am looking forward to their story as well as the others from this series. Original Review Posted at: http://paragraphsandpetticoats.blogspot.ca/ Rock star and wolf shifter, Jericho Sexton Cole, could have any woman he wants, but he is still hung up on the one that got away. Lone Wolf, Isabelle Marie Monroe (Izzy), gets a job at a local shifter bar being reunited with the one man she could never forget. Things won’t be easy for the two, especially when one’s life is threatened. I admire Izzy. She had a difficult childhood having a Father, who is a wolf and mother and siblings who are cougars. After continually being abused by her siblings, she had the courage to go out on her own. I like that Izzy is the person that originally encouraged Jericho to become a musician. She saw the good in him, and it made him a better person. I love Jericho. He is strong for overcoming an addictive lifestyle. He is a good person that stands up for what is important to him. Five Weeks has a fantastic plot that kept me on the edge of my seat. So many exciting things happen in this story that I was completely engaged. I enjoyed that character from that previous series are a major part of the story. I loved this book. Five Weeks was a story that a happily lost sleep over because I couldn’t put it down, completing it in a day. Dannika Dark is a gifted and creative writer. The Seven Series is refreshing and full of action and suspense. A must-read for lovers of paranormal shifter romances. A gifted copy was provided by author/publisher for an honest review. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
Jericho isn't the famous rock star he once was, though he still plays in a local band and loves to party. Beautiful women come and go, but music is his only passion-until a sassy redhead named Isabelle Monroe shows up unexpectedly. Izzy has always loved the freedom and adventure of life on the road, but she has recently decided to settle down-as much as a rogue wolf can. When her boyfriend gets her a job working at a hot Shifter bar, she runs into the last person on earth she expected to see again. Old habits die hard, and sometimes the toughest addictions to shake are the ones that control our hearts. Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |
