This was a very touching story that I'm very glad is based on a true story. Reading Mogie warmed my heart and made me want to comfort anyone that I can. I've been familiar with the Ronald McDonald house for many years but I've never heard this story until now. Dogs are the best medicine for man's soul. ( ) This is one of my favorite books that's up for Children's Choice (in Washington). It's the very tender telling of a puppy who wanders into the Ronald McDonald House. I love how author Kathi Appelt states, "Give that dog a puddle and he’d splash. Give him a whistle and he’d roll over. Give him a rule and he’d break it." In a very similar manner she describes a little boy named Gage who got sick and had to go to the hospital. Have a tissue on hand! This is a WCCPB nominated book about a dog who has trouble finding his purpose until he finds a home in the big city in a big house where children who are sick go to live. Dogs are against the rules, but Mogie is good at breaking rules as well as helping these sick children get better. Mogie has a lot of heart and so does the book. This book would be a good one for teachers to use in lessons about finding your gifts and ways to contribute. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
