Jared and Lili, I had a hard time starting this one not for the reason you might think this is one of my favorite series. it was also one of my bestfriends. she passed a few weeks after we bought this installment so i had a hard time picking it up.

Jared and Lili connect in a very slow and seductive relationship. I liked that they danced a little before the main event, so to speak. Jared is a master at sex, and Lili hasn't a clue what it's like to feel, but she's willing to learn and trust. I liked these two together, especially with how everything started out with them (oh, the piano) but somehow this relationship never achieved the ardor I was expecting. There's a great scene when Rachel invites Jared and Lili over for dinner, and yet I thought something was missing in this story. Yes, there was lots of sex, but the passion between Jared and Lili could have burned a little brighter for me, especially after he wakes her up to feeling.

I've loved this series from the beginning and will continue to wait anxiously for each new romance and a visit with old friends from previous books in the series. I liked Beyond Innocence, it just isn't my favorite in the series. It's still an exciting world to spend a few hours. ( )

One of the best in this series, which is high praise from someone who has trouble finding women in romances she can admire. Lili has a lot to overcome. But then, so does Jared. ( )

Lili has lived her whole life repressed and suppressed. She never learned how to feel, because feeling was dangerous.

Jared was a high class whore. He has spent his professional life teaching women how to feel, but has hidden his own feelings.

When Lili and Jared get together, things are explosive as they both learn how to drop their masks.

Great love story. Even better, it's a great story in and of itself, before you even add it as a building block into the rest of the story. I love Lili learning to embrace her power, something she would never been able to do in 5. Awesome journey. ( )

Lili and Jared

It's so interesting seeing people come into sector four. They come in alone and broken, slowly find themselves and grow into these powerful people that find love and friendships they never knew before.

The best part for me is that the women are written just as strong as the men and their contributions are just as important. I wonder if this would have happened if not for Lex? ( )
