While I can't recommend diet books, this worked for me. I lost 10 lbs and 11 inches in 28 days. It was difficult cutting out sugar, dairy, caffeine, etc on her forbidden foods list. However, it was for 28 days. I am going to continue eating healthy, but I will include coffee at breakfast and dairy.

Many of her recommendations make sense, such as avoiding prepared (packaged/frozen) foods, as they all contain preservatives, too much salt, and far too much sugar. Just look at breakfast cereals and frozen dinners. Soft drinks are a non-food item and artificial sweeteners trigger one's appetite.

There can be long term problems cutting out food groups, besides craving certain items. See your physician or a nutritionist before starting any weight loss program. ( )
