This book is about a imaginary friend named Beekle, who is no longer imaginary. Beekle is waiting to be played with like all his friends, but that never happens. Beekle travels into the real world hoping to find his person. This didn't work out, but instead he crossed paths with a young girl who hasn't had a friend herself. The life of Beekle becomes much happier again.

I recommend this cute fictional book for K-3 graders. Dan Santat, the author and illustrator, made this storyline and pictures so fun and possibly relatable for kids. It shows that if someone is feeling felt out, it is perfectly okay to go out in the real world and try new things! be different, adventure, and make new friends! Find someone you can connect with and not be scared! It's a great book for telling kids to be brave.

This delightful book tells the tale of Beekle, an unimaginary friend (not quite sure what type of being he is) waiting to be selected as an imaginary friend by a child. It take us to the island far away where imaginary friends are born. Beekle gets impatient and tries to hurry along being chosen. The pictures are just amazing, they cover the whole page and really add to telling the story, especially the setting. It is a delightful imaginative story that anyone who has had an imaginary friend or a family member who has had one, will enjoy. ( )

A great children's book with amazing illustrations! This is an appropriate read aloud for grades K-3. Beekle is waiting to be thought up so he can be an imaginary friend, when no one chooses him, he decides to go on an adventure to Earth. He has many adventures but still doesn't find his friend. Feeling lonely, he sits in a tree looking out. A girl (with no friends) approaches him and they become friends. I love the message about finding someone you connect with and also not being scared- Beekle went and had his own adventures when looking for a friend. ( )
