Entertainment journalist, Ryan Pierce, meets the infamous bad-boy rocker, Dagger Drummond, and walks away with a great interview and a scandalous news bit that has the potential to turn the music world on its ear. Exposing the story would boost Ryan's career, but it would also come with the risk of ruining Dagger's privacy - and possibly his Rock God status. The unlikely friendship that develops between Dagger and Ryan brings Ryan to question more than just his journalistic oath to report the news. It also forces him to take a look at himself and newly discovered feelings - feelings that make Ryan blind to the risk of becoming front page news himself. Will Ryan find the courage to make a life decision to give himself true happiness with Dagger or take the path that would likely lead to heartbreak and destroy his career forever?… (plus d'informations)

I really liked the dynamics between Dagger and Ryan. Dagger was patient (kind of.. Lol) but really talked with Ryan rather than push him and tell him to get over it and figure things out. I enjoyed their journey. ( )

5 stars for how hot and erotic this book was and for using one of my favorite tropes “straight man turning gay just for you”
3 for entertainment. Gets a bit boring in the middle after too many handjobs, blowjobs and dry humping and no actual sex as Ryan struggles too much with his sexuality
2 stars for the plot - not much of a plot really, just Dagger dogging Ryan around trying to convince him what a good couple they could be
3 stars for writing - fast read with some lazy editing, typos, words used incorrectly
Overall about 3 stars

Ryan Pierce is a reporter for a music magazine and meets Dagger Drummond ( ***snorts*** ) during an interview. Here’s how Ryan describes himself at the beginning of the book:

“Ryan was a few inches over six feet of alpha brawn, with broad shoulders, narrow hips and long legs that looked like he could step over people rather than go around them. He had thick dark hair, loosely combed with his fingers and brushing the collar of his wine-colored shirt. Gray-blue eyes and a thin layer of beard growth – grown more out of laziness than a fashion statement. It all made for an enticing package that no one would dispute was easy on the eyes.

And here he is - just some pages later in case you have forgotten his description from 2 min before- how Dagger sees Ryan for the first time

Dagger watched the man turn around and his breath caught at the gorgeous man standing before him. Thick, dark hair covered his head, curling at the ends against the collar of his dress shirt. Wide, muscled shoulders, narrow hips, and jeans that creased in just the right places to frame an enticing package.

Ryan is too hot for his own good and he is not even aware of his charm.

“Many mistook him for being a male model, which annoyed the hell out of Ryan.”

... poor Ryan, the struggles he must have faced while growing up

We are let to understand Ryan is a man who overthinks and over analyzes things too much. If you do not get it the first time, don’t worry, you will be told over and over again for over 25 f**king times.

“Don’t over-think it,” Dagger said.

“Over-thinking again?” Dagger asked.

He was unraveling, and once again, Dagger’s two weighty words rang loudly in his head. Over. Thinking.

“Don’t over-think it. It’s a simple invitation,” Dagger said.

“I promise not to over-think it,” Ryan said.

“You hesitated with your answer, so I assumed you were probably over-thinking again.”

“I’m over-thinking this, I know, but . . .”

I GET IT! RYAN OVER-THINKS TOO MUCH!

It's not as if I didn't get this from Ryan's constant inner turmoil. (this is me ranting not an actual quote but a summary of Ryan's thoughts) "I'm not gay, but why does it feel so good? I was always straight, but I would love to give Dagger a blowjob, does that make me gay? and if I'm giving him a blowjob and he spends himself in my mouth, will I like it or will I be disgusted? But Dagger is sooo hot and makes me so hard. But I'm not gay, am I? Don't you dare call me gay, I'll punch you in the face. Uuu, Dagger, can I suck you off? But I'm not gay. #nohomo" ARRRRGH!!

Ryan is a straight man who never imagined himself being attracted to men. Something like this never happened to him. Except that one time, when he was 14, and he had his first kiss not with a girl, but with his best friend, and it was the hottest kiss ever and almost made him jizz his pants. But he had forgotten about that because everyone forgets their first kiss, right?

Dagger, the rich rockstar who can have any man and woman he wants, falls for poor, straight Ryan and starts pursuing him, calling him late at night, sending texts, sending dick pics, asking for dick pics, wanking off while talking to him over the phone, flying from New Orleans to LA for a couple of hours of kissing, wanking and dry humping, inviting him to Vegas. You know, the standard 21st century courtship according to the new stalker-dating manual implemented in this glorious day and age by Christian Grey and 50 Shades of Grey.
They both have their own struggles to overcome, Dagger being a closeted gay for the sake of fame, and Ryan struggling with his attraction for Dagger. Sometimes the book seemed a little M/F-ish to me due to Ryan’s schoolgirl mentality and … sigh… overthinking.
But it made the book fun to read.

While this is not the next American Novel, I had fun with it and I even purchased the second book which is MMF. If you want to read a sexy M/M novel, focused mainly on the sexual relationship between two gorgeous men, look no further. ( )

I RECEIVED AN ARC OF THIS BOOK IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW!!!

The highest rating I can give this book is 5 Stars but it's definitely an 8 Star book to me. I was asked to read and review this book because I don't mind reading M/M romance. This is the first book that I have read where the sexual relationships are all M/M but the second book I've read that has M/M relationships. Knowing this book centered on M/M relationships had me a bit worried at first as to whether or not I would like it, but I will give any book a chance because you never know. I'm glad I gave it a shot because otherwise I would have missed out on one great book.

Ryan Pierce is an entertainment journalist for Music Spin Magazine and is doing a story on Dagger Drummond the singer of Black Ice. The last thing Ryan expected was a wet Dagger with only a towel wrapped around his waist demanding to know who he is. What has him even more confused is that he can't stop checking out Dagger. Dagger Drummond is a Rock God. While taking a shower in his tour bus after a show he sees someone walking around his bus. He jumps out the shower wraps a towel around his waist goes out to the main room and demands to know who he is. When Ryan turns around Dagger can't get enough of the man standing in front of him. After the interview is over Ryan has to go back on the bus because he forgot something and he catches Dagger with a guy. When Dagger knows he's been caught he explodes again and starts worrying about Ryan printing his secret. This begins their journey as friends and maybe more.

Ann Lister takes you on an emotional heart warming roller coaster ride. She does an excellent job of making you feel like you are a part of the story and at times even a little bit like a voyeur spying on something so personal. The struggles and obstacles that Ryan and Dagger go through are things you can relate too and believe. She did such a great job bringing the characters to life for me. I laughed, cried, blushed, cried, and laughed some more while reading this book.

Thank you Ann for such a wonderful book. I enjoyed the trip and seeing how they deal with self discovery, fear, love, and hate. Most importantly thank you for a beautiful love story about two handsome men who want only to have some love and happiness in their lives. Something they find when they aren't looking for it and when they least expect it. Can't wait to read more books in this series and more from this author. ( )
