This is probably the last time I've ever let Amazon recommending a book to me but I'm not seeing how that's possible since Goodreads is Amazon. I never understood why this novel was classified under BDSM erotica when there's barely even sex in this book and the drama and wealth of non-important characters it have outweight any redeemable feature this book ever had.

This book is about Ginger, an out-of-town half-breed werewolf girl with her working friends and she went out to a bar where she saw a man-whore rubbing over his bodies with a lot of women and exchanging them through the night until this guy came toward her for a dance and she said no and flee. However, that man-whore turned out to be the town's sheriff and Alpha and because of her refusal, she made a direct challenge to the alpha and to prevent a war between her pack and his, she was forced to work as the sheriff's assistant. Add to that, she's also a ghost whisperer, an archaeologist's assistant, a family counselor with an intuitive to solve crimes. Oh, she's also a woman supposedly with poor self-image which constitute to big-boned woman (BBW) label this book had which magically disappears and the characterization of immature special snowflake character remained.

I wished I had a better intuitiveness to avoid this book but of course, I have to have that tendency to finish what I read no matter what. Despite being a werewolf novel, there's barely any amount of supernatural in this book. The character's drama overwhelm the story that by the end of the book, everything look like a mismatch of a chic lit and the little thing that made paranormal romance or paranormal erotica appealing. I love the characters and plot in this book. The hero and heroine had the whole mate thing going on but it didn't move too fast. Add in the mystery or the professor and his students, along with Montgomery. Hmmmm? Some strange goings on.

Portia, typical other. ;-) Gotta have the "bitches", literally. LOL

If you like your shifters, a bit of magic, some good lovin and a bit of mystery too, this is a book for you. I hope to read much more of the Shifters, Inc. series. ( )
