Hunter is the Leader of the MoonBound Vampire Clan and will do anything to protect his clan. In order to save a clan member from another clan leader’s sword, Hunter agrees to marry his awful daughter, Rasha.

Aylin is Rasha’s twin sister but is nothing like her. While Rasha has been treated like a princess, Aylin has been treated like trash because she was born with a twisted lower leg and her father’s clan does not except anything less than perfect.

Hunter finds himself falling for Aylin instead of Rasha but his loyalty is to his clan. Sometimes, happiness and love are not possible for clan leaders.

I really wanted to hate Rasha in this book and I did but she did have one redeeming quality. Although, she was raised to be cruel and to believe that only the strongest deserve to live, she showed kindness to Aylin at times. She snuck books to Aylin throughout their childhood despite the fact that their father didn’t allow it. Rasha was still awful but I liked that the author didn’t make her totally evil. She was just a product of how she was raised and what she was taught all of her life.

I’m not sure how many books Larissa Ione plans on writing for this series but I hope this will be an ongoing series as opposed to a trilogy because there are some strong background characters who I would love to get to know better. I’m looking forward to the next book.

A different take on vampires, this is the second book in the series. Vampires can be born or made, humans hunt them and enslave them. Riker is clan leader of one of the free clans in hiding and is suppose to mate a rival clan's daughter whom he despises, while lusting for her twin sister. More history on these Native American originating vampires and hints of the future.

I didn't enjoy this quite as much as Bound by Night because I didn't like Hunter as much as I like Riker, but it was still a great read. I couldn't stop reading! The next book is Myne's and I can't wait! I love him. Hopefully it won't be too much longer before it comes out. I am really enjoying this series. ( )

Crippled from birth and therefore considered useless and weak to her clan, the heroine exists only to be a body double for her twin sister. Traveling with her to meet her betrothed, they are attacked by humans and when the hero comes to save them she's mistaken for her sister. Unknowing the hero has not his betrothed in his arms but her twin sister but he doesn't know it until after she's fed from him. But that doesn't stop the urgent and completely all consuming desire he feels for her. She's far more the perfect mate for him compared to her sister but with the peace and welfare of the clan at stake, there's no way to break off the engagement. In a subplot, the hero must travel into the demon world to complete a series of tasks in order to insure the safety of his future children and when his betrothal refuses to go, the heroine agrees to travel with him. She's determined not to be a weak link and though she's pained by her leg, she's a capable warrior when it comes down to it. After a task leaves the heroine badly beaten, the demon heals her body completely including her malformed leg. She's suddenly filled with defiance and a thirst for life and she refuses to leave the demon world not knowing the hero's body. They spend a night of pleasure but when the next day comes and the hero is killed in battle, the heroine immediately sacrifices her leg to save his life. Back in the real world, they struggle with knowing their love for one another will never be enough to sacrifice the welfare of the clan so they spend their time in awkward yearning. But upon the blood moon when the males of the clan are driven wild with the need for blood and sex, the hero snaps fully and completely and finally succumbs to his female. The hero is a funny loving, movie watching guy with a dark temper as he struggles with not being his monster of a father. The heroine is self conscious and has been told her entire life that she's worthless and less than dirt but despite that, she has pride and a backbone to stand up for herself. I truly felt the yearning each character had for the other and understood why the hero had to deny her for so long but I just wanted them to get to get together already! ( )
