The Lambert Family is heading to Crescent Lake, a rural cabin community in western Pennsylvania, for an idyllic weekend getaway. Some fishing, some barbecue, some games ... The Fannelli brothers are heading to Crescent Lake too. Some stalking, some kidnapping, some murder, definitely some games ... though not necessarily the type of games the Lamberts had in mind. But it doesn't matter. The Lamberts are going to play whether they like it or not.… (plus d'informations)

Definitely kept my attention through this book. Just graphic enough without making me have to stop and regroup.

Also, it's nice to have a horror story where the married couple aren't recovering from a death of a child or thinking about divorce... ( )

Patrick, his wife Amy, and there two kids, Carrie age 6 and Caleb age 4, is on there way up to a nice cabin on Crescent Lake. It was suppose to be a great getaway for the family, but they start running into weird people and strange things begin happening. They soon find out they are a part of a game. A terrifying, sick, horrific game. A game where the only choices are, win or die.

This book was so freaky. It had me on the edge of my seat multiple times. My nails are bitten down to the nubs. I really liked this book and will definitely continue on in the series once I regain my nerve. This book is sick though, I'm not going to lie. If you are squeamish then I would not recommend you read this. There where part where I stopped mid paragraph and put my kindle down because I saw it coming and needed a minute to mentally prepare myself for whatever came next. Don't say I didn't warn you.

How I choose my rating:
1* Did not finish, or hated it but forced myself to finish.
2** Didn't really like it. Didn't hate it but not sure why I finished it other then for some closure.
3*** I liked it. I had some issues with it, but as a whole it was good. I probably won't reread again ever, but there is a chance I might finish the series. (If part of one) But if not it's not a huge loss.
4**** I really liked this book. Maybe not a work of genius, but highly entertaining. I might reread this again, and I will finish the series. (If part of one) I would recommend to those I know hold interest in this books content.
5***** I loved this book. I found little to no issues with it at all. I will definitely be rereading this and probably more than once. I will finish the series and reread it multiple times. (If part of one) I will recommend this book to EVERYONE!!!!

This was a great thriller/horror novel. The two brothers are deliciously evil, and they have humor which is great. These are interesting villains. I can't wait to read the other two. Geez! ( )

The Lambert family is off to scenic Crescent Lake for a week of fishing, relaxing and general lighthearted shenanigans. Unfortunately, they have a run-in with a couple of fellas who are heading towards Crescent Lake for some fun of their own. Jim and Arty are two lovable psychopath brothers with no regard for humanity, whom get their collective rocks off by targeting unassuming victims for drawn out torture sessions with homocide, or at least attempted homocide, as the cherry on top. Let the Bad Games begin.

This book had a pretty high creep out factor. Page after page left the reader wondering how far Jim and Arty would be willing to go to satisfy their primal needs to cause pain. You have to suspend reality a bit to get through the book. Specifically, some pretty disturbing things happen to the Lambert family early on in the story, and yet rather than pack it in and run for the hills, they opt to stick around and see how things play out. This book is not for everyone, but if you are in the mood for a fast paced dark thriller, give Bad Games a try. ( )

I enjoyed this 76 chapter book. I liked the pop culture references and I enjoyed the scenes when the bad boys, Arty and Jim, were together. They were crazy, and it was a page turner to see what they’d do next. They strived off of people’s fears. My favorite scenes were when they tormented Patrick and his wife, Amy, with mind games (on the trip there and in the grocery store).

However, the family scenes were boring to me. The dialogue was sort of corny. As a reader, I got that they loved each other and was always horny for each other. Good for them. Some events were unbelievable. I can’t imagine going on a vacation to relax, but refusing to leave when I think my life and my family’s life is in danger. I’m still trying to wrap my brain on the reason why they chose to stay.

The book started out slow. The action between the four main characters didn’t start until 41 % on my kindle. A showdown if you will. The last part of the book was suspenseful. And I loved the twist at the end, regarding their son.

I RECOMMEND this book to read. ( )
