The bar Sophia Pearce is in doesn't look like much. The wine is bad and the decor worse. But when a sudden attack of curiosity leads her to sneak past security and into the back room, she discovers something unimaginable. The most lavish party she's ever laid eyes on, in the most unlikely of places. But that's nothing compared to what comes next, to the man she meets back there. Sebastian Lock. Gorgeous, commanding, and radiating charm, he is exactly the sort of silver-tongued rake Sophia has sworn to avoid. Unfortunately, he doesn't care much for her promises. Every instinct tells her to run, but the chemistry between them is as inescapable as gravity. Soon, he's opening her eyes to a whole new world of pleasures, pleasures she never thought she'd enjoy. There's just one problem. Sebastian is more than he seems. Between the famous company he keeps and the almost paranoid secrecy of his employers, he's a puzzle Sophia can't quite solve, and his insistence on keeping things casual forces her to confront the demons of her past. Can she learn to trust again? Or will Sebastian's privacy tear them apart?… (plus d'informations)
I love a good Alpha Male book! However this just didn't seem like a great one. Sophia started out looking like a strong lead female and then turns into an easily persuaded one. Sebastian, now I get that he is the handsome, mysterious stranger that just has a way about him. But no matter how hot or rich he is, I can't see any woman sleeping with him after only the third time of seeing him. Once at a strange party, once when he shows up where you work and then dinner.
I'm just not buying it, and then after Sophia submits to him, she freaks and takes off, just wasn't enough there for me to want to read the second book. ( )
Smutty and delicious. It's amazing how easy it is to remember the stories you read the evoked strong reactions. Whether it be anger, fear, love or 'Lord have Mercy, I need to change my panties' ( )
Easy to get through, good writing. Very descriptive. I enjoyed the odd Australian touch and it felt very naturally written. I liked the main character but found her partner difficult to relate to and all a bit wooden and unrealistic. I stuck with it and will continue the series ( )
